So far, this is one of our favorite restaurants in Bahrain. Attic is a Greek restaurant, and the employees are from Greece and various countries Africa. Lets start with the ambiance. The setting is dimly lit, candles, there’s an outside patio, etc. The staff are the friendliest I’ve ever met. We were met at the door my a gentleman named Beghi (sp?) from Zimbabwe. We had light conversation as he led us to the elevator and up tot he restaurant. There, we were met by our server, named Thuli, from Swaziland.
We had conversations regarding African Americans, people from her country (and surrounding areas), travel and more, all between ordering food and eating. We talked hair, what there is to do in Bahrain, and much more. We then met Sean who worked in the kitchen, and on a subsequent visit met Liza. e exchanged numbers with Thuli and Beghi and intend to hang out in the future.
Now, let’s talk food. The lamb Kleftiko, Seafood Giouvetsi, Beef Giouvetsi, Lamb Chops, Baby Chicken (basically everything we’ve had) have been amazing. The Kleftiko is a lamb shank, slow cooked in peppers and tomatos. The Giouvetsi is an orzo based dish, with seafood or slow cooked beef.
